Who else is excited to spend the summer reading and lounging around outside? I’ve already got a nice burn on my legs from Lake Tahoe. Apparently 7000 feet above sea level is the answer to my year-round winter complexion. 😉 Thank you Tahoe. But I’m looking to fill up my bag with fun reads for the summer.
Now’s the time to jump on over to Publisher’s Marketplace and print off your summer reading guide! It’s perfect for discovering new books and filling up you reading queue.
And Simon and Schuster is giving away 14 books for your summer reading bag! Squee! Even if you don’t win, you have a fun list to read!
Hachette has some fun suggestions on their home page, and if you’re more of an e-reader kinda person, check out their EBOOK deals. Great way to fill up your queue with little effort. Psst…their also having a giveaway.
And while we’re filling out our reading queue, don’t forget to check out Barnes and Nobles summer reading program. They have awesome recommendations and your kids can get a headstart on their AR points for next year! Earn free books and get extra credit? Yes please.
Penguin has an ultimate PDF with reading suggestions by grade. And if you’re an adult, don’t worry, you can STILL read childrens’ books. That’s the fun part about being an adult. We can read all kinds of books.
Scholastic has a Summer Reading Challenge, if you know any kids that need a little push to read this summer. It’s a fun way to keep up during the summer and not lose the momentum of everything they learned during the school year. They also have a bus tour, go see if it’s going to stop by your town!
HarperCollins has some great reading tips and a summer reading sweepstakes. I like their tip of watching the movie after you read the book. The book is always better! My son read Charlotte’s Web to earn AR points in school and after he took his test and passed it off we had a movie night with pizza and popcorn and popped the movie in. What a fun idea!
